Biometrics Feasibility for Securing Remote Areas
Apogee was contracted to conduct an evaluation of commercially available biometrics technology that could be deployed to remote border locations in the areas of available facial recognition, fingerprint, iris, and palm biometrics capabilities.
Criteria included cost, expected maintenance costs, power requirements, hardware requirements, expected spare parts required, ease of installation, power requirements, sensitivity, false acceptance rate, and false recognition rates.
The evaluated biometrics were ranked and an explanation of methodology with detailed descriptions and diagrams of how they would be applied to border crossings were documented in a BTE Report for the client.
